Juno Lunar Nodes T-Square September 2014

Juno, asteroids of relationships and partnerships of all types, has been approaching its T-Square to the Lunar Nodes over the last couple weeks bringing Juno related issues to a crisis point, demanding they be addressed. The crescendo of this event occurs just before the Full Moon of September 8 through the Last Quarter Moon of Sept 15, and completes as the Moon conjoins Juno on September 18, just before the Balsamic Moon. The Balsamic Moon conjoining Jupiter, occurring on September 18-19, then mobilizes and sets free any changes being made throughout this time, but which will not fully engage until the start of the next Lunar Cycle occurring on Sept 24. This all began brewing in the previous Lunar Cycle due a long standing square between Juno and Pallas, peaking on Aug 2.

In the midst of this T-Square, Juno also creates a Grand Trine with Chiron and the Ceres-Vesta-Saturn conjunction, creating an open doorway to step through for the changes catalyzed by the Juno-Lunar Nodes T-Square. See the Chiron-Full Moon chart and the Chiron Full Moon summation above.

Juno and Vesta maintain a very close trine from August through October, peaking with a fraction of a degree orb throughout the last two weeks of September.

Juno

Juno is the asteroid of covenant relationships and soul colleagues. Juno is not only of personal relations, but also those of a business and economic nature to those of political leaders and nations of the world. In the astrological chart, Juno indicates the nature of the issues and opportunities in significant relations of all sorts. Mature Juno is diplomatic, tactful, cooperative, and mutually trusting. Mature Juno expresses with a sense of equality within self that provides the ability to draw true partners and those of equality into one’s life. There is an acceptance of another’s truth or opinion without need to challenge or debate. There is an ability to honor and support others in their own choices and decisions. Mature Juno expresses in mutual support and unconditional love to allow each other to grow and change through whatever issues surface.

At a personal level, Juno’s placement in the astrological chart is one of several points that determine the types of significant relations drawn into our lives and the nature of issues we may face in those relations. Juno's placement specifically reveals the nature of the compatibility we seek, that is, what is important to us regarding our partners. Because Juno is where we deal with our inferiority / superiority complexes, and if this issue is prominent, partnerships drawn in earlier life can be full of lessons regarding such issues and not much else. Once a certain level of emotional maturity is attained within self regarding any related issues, we draw partners that are more compatible or true soul level covenant partners. This does not mean we still do not grow regarding Juno issues, but there are those individuals with which we may also have a mutual soul bond and mission to pursue together.

Potential Juno issues (an immature Juno expression) can manifest as superiority / inferiority complexes, power struggles, control issues, jealousy and possessiveness, betrayal, contention and standoffs, one-up-man-ship, invalidating others, lack of self confidence, dictating behavior, and a variety of other inequality issues. Pallas Athene

Pallas

Mature Pallas expresses as the artful use of creative intelligence for solution beyond duality’s paradox. Mature Pallas expresses from the balance of the masculine and feminine principles, and from beyond the judgments of one side verses the other. Pallas invites the integration of our past experience in duality—from having been on both sides of the fence at one time or another—and to claim that experience as wisdom. It invites us to use that wisdom as a foundation to express nonjudgmental courageous solution beyond life’s paradoxes created by opposing forces.

Pallas is applier and defender of wisdom and truth; the expression of intellect in craft and inventiveness. Mature Pallas accepts personal responsibility for having co-created our experience; i.e. the resolution of victim consciousness. Pallas has the strategic capacity to link, unify and bring together; and has wonderful perceptual skills for planning and public relations. Pallas often has a prominent placement in the charts or artists. Pallas significantly effects emotional and physical equilibrium. More about Pallas.

Key themes:

Uranus-Eris-South Node: radical spontaneous progressive change; breaking away from the conformity of the past, perhaps catalyzed by unexpected disruptive events occurring in relationships, like the overturning of an apple cart. Past patterns can be those of a radical undermining nature.

Juno square the Lunar Nodes is the issue or what needs to be resolved. Issues to address are those regarding inequality in relationships, mutual respect, etc., and making any required changes in relationships and partnerships of all types, willingly or perhaps catalyzed by the South Node's unexpected events. Juno invites us to look at how we are participating in our relations and with our allegiances, those personal and those international, to address the patterns of the past and to move toward the North Node theme.

Mercury-Pallas-North Node: Establishing a greater equality and social justice in relations though communication, resulting in new level of artful expression of creative intelligence and a new level of equilibrium in relationships. Also establishing a new foundation in relationships that is in greater equilibrium and beyond conflict from which a clearer level of creative expression can emerge. Also see Pallas.

Overall, there is impetus to move from the South Node theme to the North Node theme, with the issue surrounding inequalities in relationships. This can result in relationships breaking apart with new ones forming, or simply as motivation to re-equilibrate our existing relationships or to establish greater clarity and balance in how we interrelate.

Juno trine Vesta: August through October: Emergence of a new level of focus, commitment and dedication in relationships. Juno-Chiron Vesta Grand Trine: healing of past issues in relations as a means to create a bridge into a new future with a clearer and more focused purpose of intent. See the Chiron Full Moon, and also Vesta.

Chiron Full Moon Summation - September 8 (9 UT)

...The Moon-Chiron conjunction brings attention to our need for healing the wounds incurred from our journeys so far, as well as to the work yet to be done to create a bridge into a new world paradigm and a society based upon humanitarian principles. A key message our Chiron Full Moon brings is to use the power of the wounds of the past to create the inner healing required to move into a greater wisdom and freedom of being. This is in contrast to defending or justifying why we are wounded to start with or in positions less that what we feel is rightfully ours. This is also the essence of our new annual Earth-Chiron synodic cycle.

World Events: The U.S. Coalition Air Strikes against the Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq

It is interesting to note in the context of the Juno Lunar Nodes T-Square that the U.S. President Obama outlined a new strategy over the several days during this T-Square to "degrade and destroy" the Islamic State (IS) militants; and as the IS declared a "caliphate," now having seized large areas of Syria and Iraq. It is also interesting to note that the first air strike under this new plan against the Islamic State was carried out at the culmination of the T-Square and on the Last Quarter Moon (September 15 / 16 UT), which conjoined the Horns of Bull, the Crab Nebula Super Nova Remnant (M1) of 1054 A.D. and the head of Orion. Baghdad has officially requested military action against Isis.

Quotes from the Lunar Planner

Last Quarter Moon Sar Chart Horns of the Bull

The Last Quarter Moon lies between the ecliptical longitudes of El Nath and Al Hecka, although south of the ecliptic, closer to Al Hecka and the Crab Nebula (M1).

El Nath and Al Hecka, the latter at the cusp of sidereal Taurus / Gemini, lie over the head and belt of Orion, and south of Auriga, the charioteer. The horns embody the pursuit, struggle and engagement in the physical world.

El Nath, Beta Taurus (also shared with Auriga as Gamma Auriga), is the north horn the Bull. El Nath motivates tenacious perseverance for accomplishment. It inspires the drive to achieve a breakthrough. El Nath is of a worthy pursuit for our future freedom.

Al Hecka, Zeta Taurus, the south horn, is of stalemates, standoffs, and brick walls—fighting old and antiquated crusades—particularly of a religious-political nature—and blindly or automatically continuing the fight out of habitual pattern even though the original purpose behind what we were fighting for is long gone. Al Hecka can express as beating one’s head against the wall, a relentless and futile pursuit. Al Hecka brings attention to when the accomplishment pursued is of a time no longer applicable—the time to surrender the physical struggle and move onward into a field of mutual cooperation.

Alignments with the Horns ask us to discern the difference between causes of worthy pursuit verses those driven from antiquated motive. They can produce either type of experience as well as a blend of both qualities—thus the need to discern whether tenacious perseverance is required or if is time to simply let the struggle go....

The Crab Nebula

The Crab Nebula - Image Credit: ESO

The massive supernova occurring on July 4, 1054, now the Crab Nebula, documented by Chinese and Arabian observers, was visible for 23 days in broad daylight. It was six times brighter than Venus and was only outshone by the Sun and Moon, taking a year to become invisible. 1054 AD is the year of what is known as the Great Schism between the Eastern and Western (Orthodox and Catholic; Greek and Latin; Byzantine and Roman); when a decisive split occurred between the Roman and Orthodox Churches with the Orthodox Church rejecting the papal authority from Rome. This Supernova’s energetic blueprint adds a significant energetic time-stream to the South Horn theme, adding the momentum of past that feeds those fighting antiquated crusades today....

Beneath the Bull's Horns resides Orion, the Hunter or Impious Wanderer; along with Messia, Lambda Orion, which marks his head, the belt stars of Orion; and Ensis, the Great Orion Nebula.... Orions are industrious and architectural, often of grandiose extravagant projects. They are also known for going off on their own crusades without consideration of Divine Directive—hence the name "impious wanderer," and are often willing to battle to the death for their causes. The stars of Orion in general impart a dynamic enterprising and entrepreneurial spirit....

Our Last Quarter Moon impulse asks us to discern that which is driving our pursuits. It invites us to consider if we are butting our heads against a wall pursuing futile struggles or antiquated involvements (and wars), driven merely from the momentum of the past, or if breaking this antiquated pattern is appropriate by choosing new enterprising paths ahead. Thus, we should make any changes in our lives accordingly.

In addition to the T-Square and the Last Quarter Moon is the start of a new 2-year Mars-Pluto cycle occurring on September 16.

Mars

Mars is an expressive and initiating creative force. Mars is of sexuality, vitality, life force, and power. In its mature expression, Mars stimulates our capacity to respond in assertive action. It is of leadership, self reliance, and victorious. It is audacious, brave, instinctual, passionate and willful. For the less mature, or when poorly placed in a chart, Mars can express as the awry or ballistic use of power, lack of self-control, abuse in all if its forms, and with selfish motive and greed that is based in the fear of not surviving or not being provided for. The Mars aspect of self (sacrum, base chakra, adrenals sexual organs) is the area generally held in most judgment by many people—due to this force having been used destructively and manipulatively in the history of the solar system resulting in aberrations and devastation of life; hence often dubbed the planet of war. Because of this, total rejection and lack of love is often projected toward the Mars quality / base chakra of self—alienating it even more.

Pluto

Pluto is a freeing and opening force; a pattern disrupter and deprogrammer. Pluto is independent, individual, and autonomous; an extremist, isolationist and loner; a revolutionist, and is non-accepting of limiting conditions. For a younger immature soul, Pluto can express as a controlling arbiter, however Pluto will ultimately make one face their own controlling issues. For an older mature soul, Pluto can be a valuable ally when worked with consciously, freeing us from antiquated behavioral patterns. Pluto's chart placement can indicate where we need to let go or surrender programmed patterns from early childhood and from previous incarnations. Pluto can bring up fears associated with survival, death and transformation; the fear to be alone, to let go, to release or to let die. Pluto brings attention to our attitude and issues we hold about authoritarian control and use of power, how we attempt to control and how we respond to such control.

Pluto demands that we take responsibility for our entrapments in life and deal with the longer-term ramifications of our actions and life scenarios—and our karmic responsibility, extending beyond a mere lifetime. Pluto also demands that we address how we co-participate and cooperate with humankind in our daily lives from an all-embracing global perspective. More about Pluto.

U.S. Chart transits September 15-16, 2014

Last Quarter Moon transits (outer ring).

Is this the start of an escalation of war? At the time of this writing, it was reported that the top U.S. General Martin Dempsey said that ground forces could be deployed against Islamic State (IS) militants if the current US-led strategy fails. Many US allies are doubtful that an Air Strike strategy to help Iraqi ground troops is enough to defeat ISIS.

U.S. Chart Transits

In the U.S. Chart to the right, note the Juno-Lunar Nodes T-Square, with Mercury-North Node conjoining U.S. Saturn. Juno has just conjoined the Sirius-Canopus U.S. Sun (allies) (+3° orb). Note the Last Quarter Moon conjoining and triggering the U.S. Mars (U.S. takes aggressive action at this specific time). Jupiter also recently made its return, and then transited the U.S. Sun (Administration), Mercury, POF, and North Lunar Node, the latter on September 1, 2014 (all mobilizing the U.S. leadership role (Sirius-Canopus-Sun) and directive (N.N.) in the International arena. Also note Pluto transiting the U.S. Eris. This is a much longer-term transit, but now just past the second trigger due to Pluto's retrograde.

Note: The current Sirius-Canopus Jupiter Synodic Cycle, occurring on January 5, 2014, conjoined the U.S. Sun, making this cycle an extra-significant influence for the U.S. The theme of this cycle is presented in the January 1, 2014 Lunar Planner.
